Committees form an key part of the Canada-America Society and we are always looking for more volunteers!  If you would like to share your knowledge and enthusiasm for a particular area of interest, please contact the Canada-America Society: Brenda.McKelvie@wfib.com , join us for our monthly or committee meeting.

ACADEMIC AND SCHOLARSHIP
Acting Chair: Melissa Richardson

This Committee focuses on programs that introduce American students to the study of Canada. The Committee works with the Canadian Studies programs at universities throughout Washington State and promotes educational exchanges. The Committee also explores and organizes philanthropic projects that could fund educational activities/programs for students in K-12 and scholarships for Washington State students who attend Canadian institutions of higher learning.

 

BUSINESS AND TECHNOLOGY

Co-Chair: Sherry Moir; Acting Co-Chair: Michael Herbst

This Committee is responsible for organizing events of interest to corporate members and others interested in trade between Canada and the United States. The Committee promotes networking opportunities, business forums, trade shows and links with other Washington State trade organizations.

 

MEMBERSHIP AND MARKETING

This Committee is responsible for increasing membership and marketing to our target audience. The Membership/Marketing Committee will also create marketing material, write the quarterly newsletter, build relationships with local media, and form partnerships with similar organizations.


SOCIAL AND CULTURAL

Co-Chairs: Carley Andrews & Melissa Richardson

This Committee is responsible for organizing an on-going schedule of events that will offer social, cultural, and athletic opportunities for all members of the Society.  Annual events arranged by this very active committee include a Curling Party, Mariners Baseball Night, the Seattle International Film Festival, and Canada Day Celebration.
